Young Africans (18–35) are invited to share insights on corruption in their communities through a new survey by the YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board – Africa. Your voice will help shape youth-led strategies for UNCAC CoSP11 in December 2025.
Young Africans are at the forefront of shaping the future of governance and accountability across the continent. In the lead-up to the 11th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP11) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), the YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board – Africa is launching a regional consultation to gather the voices, insights, and ideas of youth aged 18–35 across Africa.
This initiative is part of the 2023 UNCAC Roadmap to strengthen the role of non-governmental actors in the fight against corruption. The consultation seeks to better understand young people’s experiences with corruption, the challenges they face, and the innovative, community-driven solutions they’re leading or envisioning in their local contexts.
Corruption remains a critical barrier to sustainable development, justice, and equal opportunity in many parts of Africa. While young people often bear the brunt of its consequences, they are also the drivers of change, demanding transparency, pushing for accountability, and leading grassroots movements.
This survey offers young Africans the opportunity to contribute directly to shaping youth-led anti-corruption strategies. Insights gathered will inform discussions at UNCAC CoSP11, influencing both grassroots programming and international anti-corruption frameworks.
Who can participate?
All African youth aged 18 to 35 years old
Purpose:
To collect insights on corruption challenges and identify local, youth-led solutions
Impact:
Your input will contribute to shaping regional and global advocacy efforts and may influence side events and working strategies presented at CoSP11 in Doha
Confidentiality:
Responses will remain anonymous, unless you choose to share your contact details for follow-up or networking
The 11th Session of the Conference of the States Parties (CoSP11) to the United Nations Convention against Corruption will take place from 14–19 December 2025 in Doha, Qatar, organized by UNODC and the State of Qatar.
The UNCAC CoSP is the world’s largest anti-corruption conference, bringing together governments, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector leaders. The 14th of December will be a preparatory day for civil society, followed by the formal conference starting on 15 December at the Sheraton Hotel.
Organizations (not individuals) can now apply to host side events at CoSP11. These provide a vital platform to showcase research, initiatives, and collaborative efforts aligned with UNCAC’s themes. Applications for side events are due by 15 August 2025.
Events must be organized or co-organized by UN entities, governments, or NGOs with observer status.
Preference is given to events aligned with predefined themes (e.g., climate, education, gender, digital governance).
Diversity in panel composition (gender, geography, sectors) is highly encouraged.
Events may be hybrid but require organizers to manage both in-person and virtual components.
While applications for non-ECOSOC NGOs to attend have closed (27 June 2025), those with ECOSOC status will receive direct communication from UNODC regarding their participation.
Observers approved to attend CoSP11 will have the right to:
Submit side event proposals
Make written submissions
Attend plenary sessions
Speak and network with stakeholders
Financial support for participation is not guaranteed, so organizations are encouraged to secure their own funding in advance.
Whether you’re an activist, student, young professional, or community leader, your insights into corruption-related issues can help design better strategies for transparency, justice, and sustainable development. From education and employment to governance and service delivery, young people are uniquely positioned to identify where corruption impacts lives and how systems can be rebuilt from the ground up.
The Youth Consultation is a crucial step in ensuring that youth voices are centered in anti-corruption efforts not just on paper—but in action.
