You’ll collaborate with MPU’s editorial and video teams to ensure that every platform—Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, and YouTube—delivers accurate, high-impact, and highly shareable content.
As Social Media Manager, you will:
Develop and implement cutting-edge social media strategies.
Direct and approve daily content, posts, captions, and rapid-response clips.
Supervise full-time staff, fellows, and content producers.
Make sharp editorial decisions based on what matters most in the news.
Maintain MPU’s signature informative and investigative tone.
Monitor analytics and audience insights through tools like Sprout Social and RivalIQ.
Work at a fast pace while maintaining high editorial standards.
The ideal candidate for the More Perfect Union Social Media Manager role has:
5+ years in social media strategy and storytelling.
At least 3 years of experience managing teams.
Strong newsroom or media background.
Deep knowledge of platform algorithms and content best practices.
Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut, Descript, or similar editing tools.
Familiarity with performance tools like Sprout Social.
