The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has announced the Global Paid Internship Roster 2025, offering valuable opportunities for students and recent graduates to gain professional experience within the UN system. This global internship program is open to candidates from diverse academic backgrounds who are passionate about advancing gender equality, reproductive health, and youth empowerment.
UNFPA is the lead UN agency working to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.
Guided by its Strategic Plan (2022–2025), UNFPA focuses on achieving three transformative results:
End preventable maternal deaths
End unmet need for family planning
End gender-based violence and harmful practices

The UNFPA Internship Programme provides a platform for young professionals to contribute to international development efforts while building skills in research, communication, project management, and policy advocacy.

To qualify for the UNFPA Global Internship Roster 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements.
Candidates must:
Be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (and have completed at least one full academic year), or
Be enrolled in a master’s degree or higher program, or
Have recently graduated (within one year of the internship start date), or
Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program where the internship is part of the training.
Applicants should:
Demonstrate a strong interest in international development
Be proficient in at least one UN working language (English or French)
Be fluent in the official language of the UNFPA office to which they apply (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish)
Show the ability to adapt to new environments and work effectively in multicultural teams
Note: Individuals with immediate family members (father, mother, son, daughter, brother, or sister) employed by UNFPA are not eligible to apply.

The stipend:
Is based on the intern’s agreed place of work, including remote arrangements
Is paid in local currency at the end of each month
