The Experiment Digital English-Spanish Language Exchange is a fully funded virtual program that connects high school students from the United States and Latin America. Through interactive activities, language practice, and cultural exchange, students strengthen their English or Spanish skills, develop leadership abilities, and build friendships across borders.
This eight-week program is designed for young people who want to grow as global citizens, improve their language fluency, and learn directly from native speakers in a supportive online environment.
Participants practice language skills, explore cultural traditions, and engage in team-based digital learning projects guided by native-speaking facilitators.
Eligible applicants reside in one of the following countries:
Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela, and the United States.
Students completing The Experiment Digital English-Spanish Language Exchange 2026 will gain valuable academic, professional, and personal benefits, including:
With Spanish as the most commonly learned foreign language in the U.S. and English proficiency essential for careers in Latin America, bilingualism is increasingly in demand.
According to the U.S. Census, Spanish is the most spoken non-English language in the country, and a New American Economy report revealed that demand for bilingual employees more than doubled in five years.
Across Latin America, studies show that 30–64% of jobs require English proficiency, with some estimates reaching 80%.
This program directly addresses these global needs by equipping students with communication and cultural understanding that translate into academic and career opportunities.
Participants must complete at least one activity per week to qualify for the completion certificate.
Safe and Inclusive Learning Spaces
Students are organized into small “families” and mid-sized “neighborhoods” to ensure meaningful interactions, individual feedback, and community building within a large international cohort.
Accessible Digital Tools
The program uses familiar, low-bandwidth platforms such as WhatsApp, Padlet, and Zoom, ensuring easy participation regardless of internet quality. Accessibility features like captions and high-contrast text enhance the learning experience.
