    McRae-Gaines Learning Center has a new logo and a new building.
    Sen. Robert Stewart and Attorney Leroy Maxwell will be honored at the First Annual Honorable Judge Collins Pettaway, Jr. Scholarship Fund celebration in Birmingham on Aug. 21. 
    Transportation to the celebration will be provided for free from the McRae-Gaines Learning Center departing at at 3 p.m. and returning at approximately 9 p.m. Reservations can be made at this link
    Stewart serves Butler, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Lowndes, Monroe, Perry, and Wilcox counties.
    He has been involved in All Abroad Inc., Steward Board of Shaw Temple AME Zion Church, Urban League of Young Professionals, a Charter Member of 100 Black Men of America, Inc. Selma chapter, and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
    He earned the “Outstanding Young Alumni of the Year” award from the United Negro College Fund in 2019.
    Maxwell served on the legal team in Jackson v. Hobbs and Miller v. Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the McRae-Gaines Center.
