The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is inviting applications for its Supply Chain Internship Roster 2026, based at the Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU) in Copenhagen, Denmark. This opportunity places interns at the heart of the world’s largest public-sector procurement system for sexual and reproductive health (SRH) supplies—supporting life-saving programmes across development and humanitarian contexts. UNFPA’s supply chain plays a critical role in ensuring equitable access to affordable, quality-assured SRH products worldwide. Interns joining the SCMU contribute directly to systems that help millions of women and adolescents exercise their reproductive rights.
About UNFPA’s Supply Chain Management Unit (SCMU)
UNFPA is the lead UN agency for procuring SRH supplies and the largest global public-sector buyer of contraceptives. The SCMU, operational since 2022, provides coordination, oversight, and innovation across all UNFPA supply chain activities.
Its work spans:
-
Delivering SRH supplies in development and humanitarian settings
-
Ensuring safe, effective, and quality-assured products
-
Promoting sustainable procurement
-
Strengthening last-mile assurance and accountability
Through this system, UNFPA supports governments, NGOs, and partners in more than 130 countries, advancing gender equality, women’s empowerment, and poverty reduction through access to family planning and reproductive health services.
