About This Opportunity

HP’s Climate team is offering a paid internship as a Software Engineer for students passionate about sustainability and software development. You will work on software tools and process automation projects that support HP’s climate action initiatives, collaborating with engineers and climate experts to improve data management, modeling, and carbon reporting.

Location: Sant Cugat del Valles, Barcelona, Spain
Internship Duration: February 2026 – June/July 2026
Work Type: Full-time (8h/day) or Part-time (4h/day)
Work Style: Office-based or Hybrid

HP’s Climate team is at the forefront of enabling HP’s sustainability and climate action strategy. They deliver tools and systems for carbon tracking, decision-making, compliance, and reporting.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to software development and process automation projects that directly support HP’s sustainability initiatives. You’ll work alongside engineers and climate experts to design technical solutions, improve data management, and help HP measure and report its carbon footprint.

This internship is ideal for students passionate about software development, climate action, and sustainability.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field

  • Must remain enrolled until the end of the internship

  • Available to start in February 2026 and continue until June/July 2026

  • Proficient in Python and JavaScript; familiarity with Databricks, Power BI, and Excel

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (English required, Spanish is a plus)

  • Team-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn

  • Students from other engineering fields with strong software development skills and interest in sustainability are encouraged to apply


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software tools and full-stack applications for sustainability and carbon analysis

  • Design and implement data models and process automation

  • Contribute to front-end and back-end development using JavaScript

  • Analyze and visualize data to support decision-making and carbon reporting
