Eight scholarships totaling $31,000. 
(Rising Sun, Ind.) – The Ohio County Community Foundation (OCCF) recently awarded $31,100 in scholarships to Ohio County former Rising Sun High School graduates currently continuing their education. The scholarships are funded by the distributions of funds established within OCCF by donors who wish to provide scholarship grants to students who are residents of Ohio County and/or are graduates of Rising Sun High School seeking a degree. The donor(s) who established the fund are listed in the scholarship award.
The Foundation is pleased to announce the following recipients:
The Ohio County Community Foundation was established in 1998. The mission of the Ohio County Community Foundation is to build, manage and distribute a lasting source of charitable funds for Ohio County. The Foundation fulfills this mission by assisting donors to establish endowments that provide scholarship grants. Anyone can contribute to an endowed scholarship fund established within the Foundation by submitting their donation to: Ohio County Community Foundation, PO Box 170, 330 Industrial Access Drive, Rising Sun, IN 47040. Gifts may be made in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one. Donations to OCCF-administered funds are tax deductible in most cases. College sophomores, recent college graduates, and graduate and law school students, are also encouraged to apply.

Students are selected based on their achievements in multiple categories.
Youth 4-H leaders led the effort this summer.
