Altrusa International of Oak Ridge will begin their year with a program on Wednesday, Aug. 27, recognizing recent scholarship recipients. The club awarded 12 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and one Sarah Ketron scholarship to a non-traditional student who is returning to school to complete her post high school education.
The in person Altrusa meeting will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel with a time to socialize. A buffet opens at 11:45 a.m. for a cost of $20, or $5 to reserve a seat, cash or check only. A short business meeting will begin at noon and the program will follow, according to a news release.
Reservations should be made by sending an email to Altrusareservations@gmail.com by noon Monday before the Wednesday program.
Altrusa International is a service organization comprised of community members focusing on leadership, partnership, and service with an emphasis on literacy and education.
