    Haliwa-Saponi student awarded scholarship
    On June 30, the 2025 Glen Richardson Scholarship was awarded to Chaliyah’ Richardson of the Haliwa-Saponi tribe. Chaliyah’ was chosen over many applicants from her outstanding application by the Native Opportunity Way Board of Directors. Chaliyah’ said she is excited over her future, as she plans to attend East Carolina University in the fall to pursue her nursing degree.
