The GDI Senior Associate – Strategy & Build (Americas) is a full-time remote position, ideally based in the United States. This role sits at the core of GDI’s work: identifying new opportunities, supporting social entrepreneurs, and turning innovative concepts into viable, scalable ventures.

You will collaborate with leaders and innovators who are tackling complex social issues – from climate resilience and economic empowerment to health systems strengthening and migration.
Working closely with a Managing Director and cross-functional teams, the Senior Associate helps research, shape, and launch new initiatives. This includes conducting rigorous analysis, developing strategic blueprints, and supporting early implementation and fundraising.
Lead quantitative and qualitative research, stakeholder mapping, and market landscaping.
Support GDI’s “Discover” phase, evaluating potential concepts for incubation.
Develop hypotheses, conduct interviews with sector experts, and assess fit with GDI’s mission.
Contribute to systems-change strategies and produce reports and presentations for partners and donors.
Translate strategies into concrete operational plans with defined deliverables and budgets.
Coordinate consultants and service providers.
Manage workflows, monitor performance indicators, and report progress.
Support the “Design” and “Build” phases of GDI initiatives, from early pilots to organizational structuring.
Draft concept notes and fundraising materials.
Track expenditures, budgets, and donor compliance.
Compile programme and financial information for donor progress reports.
Brief GDI leadership regularly on progress and risks.
Contribute to bi-weekly and quarterly reviews.
Document best practices to refine GDI’s incubation methodology.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Experience: Two to five years of relevant professional experience (strategy consulting, impact investing, social entrepreneurship, or human-centered design).
Proven ability to structure analysis, synthesize complex data, and generate actionable insights.
Strong research and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Collaborative mindset with ability to self-manage workstreams.
Curiosity, creativity, and a passion for social impact.
Exposure to sectors such as climate, migration, health, economic inclusion, early childhood, or democracy is an advantage.
Salary range: USD 75,000 – 95,000 per year.
