The University of Helsinki Doctoral School (UHDS) provides annual funding for full-time doctoral researcher positions across its doctoral programmes. These positions are designed to support doctoral candidates in completing their degree within four years.

One application period is organized each year for all doctoral programmes.

The next application period for salaried positions is 26 August – 9 September 2025.

1. Secure a Supervision Agreement

Contact a potential supervisor before applying.

Supervisors can be found via the University of Helsinki Doctoral Programmes websites or visit the University of Helsinki Research Portal

Prepare the application together with your supervisor.
2. Review Application Instructions
