LEAVITTSBURG OH- , OH—Easton Armstrong, standout senior for the LaBrae Vikings, joined the YSN Live podcast this week to discuss his final high school football season and his bright future on and off the field.
Returning as one of the area’s premier talents after a 1,000-yard rushing season, Armstrong is embracing the pressure and attention that comes with being a marked man on every opponents’ scouting report. “The pressure I put on myself is carrying others behind me,” Armstrong told hosts DJ Yokley and Anthony Hartwig. “I like to keep everybody up with my level of intensity. Energy during practice throughout the week carries on to our game on Friday.”
Armstrong credits much of his success to his dedicated teammates and the resilient ‘next man up’ mentality that’s been central to the Vikings’ culture. “I came in my freshman year…one of the outside linebackers got hurt. I was next man up—I had to step up,” said Armstrong, reflecting on the program’s toughness and depth.
Looking ahead, Armstrong has clear aspirations to play college ball, sharing that his recruiting process has been active and promising. He’s looking for more than just an athletic fit: “The main thing…I look at is the coaching staff, the seriousness in them…their major that I want to major in, and just the all-around brotherhood.”
Off the field, the senior has been ramping up his academics to prepare for a collegiate career in criminal justice or law enforcement. He credits his parents for supporting his journey and former Vikings like Devin Carter, Aiden Stevens, and Tyler Stevens for shaping his leadership style.
As for where Armstrong wants the ball with the game on the line? “I like hitting people…I like bringing them down, like tackling, but at the same time I also like…scoring end zone, celebrating with the whole team…[but] I’m leaning towards more of the offensive side,” he said with a laugh.
Fans can expect Armstrong—and the entire LaBrae squad—to keep intensity high this season as they chase new heights and a deep playoff run.

Your Sports Network (YSN) was a vision of two friends who thought there was a link missing from the chain of local sports, and the delivery to those who enjoy them.
With the evolution of technology, there should be little reason that you should never be able to stay current with live games, matches, and events at the local level.
