The Exploring Leadership Youth Program (EL) is a transformative summer initiative designed to empower high school students with the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to become active leaders in their communities. At its core, the Exploring Leadership Youth Program is more than just a summer camp—it’s a structured, experiential learning opportunity that equips students with practical tools for leadership and civic engagement. Using specialized Coro leadership modules (external link), participants—known as Youth Fellows—develop critical thinking, goal-setting, and facilitation skills.
The 2026 program will take place from June 22 to July 30, 2026. Sessions run Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, making it a full-time commitment that mirrors the responsibilities of a real workplace or internship.
What makes this initiative stand out is the variety of learning experiences it offers. Youth Fellows participate in three key areas of growth:
Through hands-on workshops and group activities, participants strengthen their ability to think critically, set and achieve goals, and communicate effectively.
Each Fellow gains real-world work experience through an internship at a nonprofit, business, or government agency in San Francisco.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the program is the chance to design and deliver a community action project.
