About the Programme

The Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development (ILSPSD) was designed in direct response to these global needs.

  • A two-year programme combining law, politics, sustainability, and security studies.
  • Delivered by six European degree-awarding partner institutions.
  • Supported by a global network of 30 associate partners.
  • Prepares graduates to understand and shape global governance in volatile times.

Programme Structure

Mobility is at the heart of the ILSPSD experience. Over 24 months, students study in three or more countries, ensuring a truly international education.

Study Path:

  1. Start at Leuphana University of Lüneburg (Germany) with International Law of Security, Peace and Sustainable Development (LL.M. or M.A. track).
  2. Continue at Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (Spain) with Theories of International Security.
  3. Specialise in one of four tracks:
    • International Law and International Security (University of Glasgow, UK)
    • Security and Conflict (Université libre de Bruxelles, Belgium)
    • Globalization, Law and Security (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal)
    • International Law and Human Rights (University of Tartu, Estonia)
  4. Final Semester: Research dissertation + optional work placement.
