Citizen Voice & Actions (CVA) Call for Applications: Generation Leadership Academy (GLA) – Cohort 5

The Generation Leadership Academy (GLA) is now accepting applications for Cohort 5. This two-week intensive youth leadership and mentoring program is designed to equip young people with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to become effective, confident leaders within their communities. GLA empowers youth to participate meaningfully in decision-making processes and contribute to sustainable development at all levels.

About the Organizing Institution

The program is implemented by CVA, a youth-led non-governmental organization founded in 2016. CVA works to build an inclusive society in Rwanda and beyond by empowering citizens—especially girls and youth—to take active roles in community development. Through awareness initiatives, mentorship, advocacy, and capacity building, CVA strengthens youth engagement and amplifies their voices in human sustainable development.


What the Program Offers

  • Two weeks of immersive leadership and mentoring sessions
  • Capacity building in youth engagement, governance, and community leadership
  • A week-long residential camp focused on practical learning and team-building
  • Networking with peers, civil society leaders, and youth structures
  • Hands-on experience designed to boost confidence and leadership competence

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Nationality & Age
    • Must be a Rwandan youth aged 18–26
    • Passionate about leadership, youth engagement, and good governance
    • Youth affiliated with civil society organizations or youth structures are strongly encouraged to apply
  2. Availability
    • Must be willing and able to participate fully in a week-long residential camp
  3. Education
    • Must be at least a university student, or hold an A1 or bachelor’s degree
  4. Application Requirements
    • Must complete the official application form attached to the Call for Applications
