What Is SHE SOARS?

SHE SOARSSexual and Reproductive Health & Economic Empowerment Supporting Out-of-school Adolescent Girls’ Rights and Skills — is:

  • A seven-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada

  • Implemented by:

    • CARE Canada

    • Restless Development

    • Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR)

    • And other partners

  • Designed to improve:

    • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

    • Economic opportunities for out-of-school adolescent girls

  • Operating in Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia

About the Youth-Led Research

Restless Development seeks Youth Researchers to support a research initiative focused on:

  • Domestic Resourcing for Adolescent and Youth SRHR

  • Conducted in Uganda, Kenya, and Zambia

The research aims to:

  • Generate country-specific evidence on:

    • SRHR budgeting

    • Accountability mechanisms

    • Financing pathways

  • Strengthen youth-led systems for:

    • Budget monitoring

    • Influencing policy reform

    • Tracking implementation processes

About You (Eligibility Criteria)

Restless Development is looking for Youth Researchers who meet the following:

Required Criteria

  • Age: 18–34 years

  • Location: Based in Uganda, Kenya, or Zambia

  • Education: Must have completed university

  • Language:

    • Fluent in English

    • Able to communicate in local languages

  • Experience:

    • Active in civil society spaces

    • Youth activism

    • Economic policy knowledge

    • Budget analysis or budget framework paper review

    • Community engagement and/or community leadership

Encouraged Applicants

Restless Development encourages applications from:

  • Young women

  • Young people with disabilities

  • Those who have previously conducted youth-led research with Restless Development

  • Alumni or participants of the SHE SOARS programme
