At Plan International UK, we believe that young people can change the world. From fighting for equal education rights to campaigning to make public sexual harassment a crime, youth are at the forefront of meaningful change.
That’s why we established the Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) — a group of passionate young people who shape our work, influence decisions, and ensure youth voices are heard across society. This fully funded youth leadership opportunity is your chance to make an impact.
The Youth Advisory Panel is a group of 22 young people aged 14–21 from across the UK. Members come from diverse backgrounds with different interests and experiences, but they share one goal — to build a more equal, fair, and inclusive world for girls and young people everywhere.
YAP members collaborate with Plan International UK’s staff, leadership, and Trustees to strengthen our youth-centred approach and advocate for equality and justice at every level.
Applications are now open for the 2026–2028 Youth Advisory Panel.

“Two of us youth advisors serve as Youth Observers at Plan International UK Board meetings. We update Trustees on youth-led initiatives and ensure the organisation stays youth-focused.
Being a Youth Observer has taught me how valued our perspectives are. It’s empowering to know that our voices truly influence decisions.”
— Elodie, 17, YAP Member
“The Crime Not Compliment campaign aims to make public sexual harassment a crime. Working with Plan International UK, I’ve helped raise awareness through events like the Girls’ Rights Collective and talks at London Metropolitan University.
Seeing our campaign make progress proves that young people can create real change.”
— Beyonce, 19, YAP Member
“The residentials are incredible. You meet other passionate young people, share stories, and learn from one another. During Ramadan, I even led the group in a special dua in Arabic.
Public speaking has become a highlight for me. I love connecting with others and inspiring confidence in my peers.”
— Maryam, 19, YAP Member
