The Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC) Fund, managed by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), has launched its second call for project proposals. This new funding round supports initiatives that address the harmful effects of hazardous chemicals and waste, with a focus on high-impact, cross-sectoral interventions that can drive measurable progress toward safer and more sustainable chemical management worldwide.
The GFC Fund was created to support the implementation of the Global Framework on Chemicals, adopted by governments and stakeholders in 2023. It provides grants ranging from USD 300,000 to 800,000 for projects lasting up to three years, targeting developing countries and economies in transition.
The Fund helps governments and organizations strengthen chemical safety laws, promote safer alternatives, and enhance national capacity for sound chemicals and waste management.
