African Athletes To Get Oversea Scholarships- Kalkaba – Africa Top Sports

Hamad Kalkaba, the president of the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA), has declared his intention to give African athletes better training possibilities and overseas scholarships.
This was stated by Kalkaba at a news conference held in Abeokuta to mark the conclusion of the third African U-18/U-20 Athletics Championships.
According to him, the CAA is actively working with international sports organisations to help up-and-coming athletes, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“We have established partnerships with several sports development bodies, including the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa,” Kalkaba said.
“Through these collaborations, we will offer scholarships to athletes across the continent and facilitate their training at international centres.”
Regarding future hosting rights, Kalkaba disclosed that the Senior African Championships will be held in Ghana in 2026 and Botswana in 2028.
In the meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Algeria will host the U-18/U-20 Championships in 2027.
