SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – LSU Shreveport Athletics announced the launch of a women’s volleyball program in on Monday (Dec. 1).
The program is set to launch in the fall of 2026.
Campus athletic director Lucas Morgan says the program is a demonstration of LSUS Athletics expanding opportunities for women.
“This growth reflects our continued commitment to expanding opportunities for female student-athletes and strengthening the overall university goal of creating more on-campus activity,” said Morgan.
Morgan calls the program a step forward and emphasizes the intersection between sports and academics.
“We look forward to building a team that will represent our university with excellence both on the court and in the classroom. This is a massive step forward for Pilot Athletics,” Morgan remarked.
