Voices from the Frontline fund 2025: Empowering Women’s and Girls’ Organisations Across the UK

Applications are now open for Rosa’s Voices from the Frontline fund 2025, a national grant programme supporting women’s and girls’ organisations across the United Kingdom. With grants of up to £10,000, the fund aims to strengthen the voices of those advocating for equality, justice, and change in policies and practices that affect women’s lives.

The Voices from the Frontline fund, now in its eighth round, recognises that lasting progress in women’s rights and gender equality comes from grassroots leadership and activism. It provides vital financial resources for organisations working to ensure that women and girls can speak out, challenge inequality, and drive systemic transformation.

About Rosa and the Voices from the Frontline programme

Rosa is the UK’s dedicated fund for women and girls. Its mission is to promote gender equality by providing funding and support to organisations led by and for women. Through initiatives like Voices from the Frontline, Rosa channels resources directly to the organisations most connected to the realities of women’s lives — those tackling discrimination, violence, poverty, and barriers to opportunity.

As Rosa’s CEO Rebecca Gill explains:

“If you are serious about wanting to see real progress and change in women’s lives, you need to fund women’s organisations. It is these organisations that drive and sustain change and progress.”

The Voices from the Frontline fund has already supported hundreds of projects nationwide, enabling campaigners to raise awareness, influence decision-makers, and create long-term improvements in laws and practices that affect women’s and girls’ daily lives.

What the Voices from the Frontline fund supports

The Voices from the Frontline fund is designed to strengthen the capacity of women’s and girls’ organisations to campaign and influence effectively. Grants of up to £10,000 are available for projects that:

  • Build public awareness or influence policy related to gender equality;

  • Amplify the voices of women and girls facing inequality, discrimination, or exclusion;

  • Conduct research or advocacy to inform systemic change;

  • Strengthen community-led campaigns for social justice;

  • Support intersectional movements that address issues of race, disability, class, sexuality, and migration.

Previous rounds of funding have supported organisations campaigning on issues such as:

  • Elder abuse affecting South Asian women;

  • Period poverty and menstrual health;

  • Domestic abuse and coercive control;

  • Workplace menopause policies;

  • Barriers to employment for Asian women;

  • Stigma and trauma linked to child removal;

  • Sexual harassment in higher education spaces;

  • Awareness campaigns on drink spiking.

As Florence Igboayaka, CEO of The Period Place, stated:

“This funding from Rosa is a powerful step towards ensuring that all women, especially those with period-related conditions, have their voices heard and their needs met. We are honoured to be part of this movement for change.”

Who can apply for the Voices from the Frontline fund

The fund is open to women’s and girls’ organisations based in the UK that are led by and for women. Eligible applicants include charities, voluntary and community groups, and social enterprises that meet the following criteria:

  • Non-profit status with a constitution and a board of at least three unrelated members;

  • UK bank account with two unrelated signatories;

  • Clear mission to advance gender equality and support women and girls;

  • Demonstrated experience in campaigning, advocacy, or community mobilisation.

Priority is given to organisations working with and for women who face multiple layers of discrimination, including:

  • Black and minoritised women and girls;

  • Disabled women;

  • LGBTQ+ women and girls;

  • Women in poverty or living in areas of high deprivation.

This inclusive approach ensures that funding reaches those most often excluded from mainstream support.
