The Information Society Project (ISP) at Yale Law School is now accepting applications for its 2026–27 Resident Fellowship program. These prestigious fellowships are designed for recent graduates of law or Ph.D. programs who are pursuing an academic career and whose research aligns with the ISP’s areas of focus.
For this cycle, ISP especially encourages applications from scholars interested in:
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The Digital Public Sphere, including issues of freedom of speech, content moderation, privacy, antitrust, and algorithmic governance
ISP Resident Fellowships provide a unique opportunity for early-career scholars to deepen their research while contributing to the vibrant intellectual community at Yale Law School.
Key expectations for ISP Fellows include:
Publishing at least two academic works per year
Active participation in all ISP events
In-person presence in ISP facilities at least three full days per week
Contributions to ISP programming and activities
To foster collaboration and community, fellows are strongly encouraged to reside in the New Haven area.
Start Date: July 1, 2026
Duration: One year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year (subject to performance)
Salary: USD $70,000 per year (subject to review by Yale HR)
Additional Support: Yale University benefits, travel stipend, and full access to Yale’s world-class academic resources
Applicants must:
Have completed a J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent degree before the fellowship begins
Demonstrate a strong research agenda connected to ISP’s mission
Be committed to academic scholarship and collaborative engagement

Cover letter detailing interest in the ISP Resident Fellowship
Research agenda (maximum 5 pages)
Resume or CV
Law/graduate school transcript
At least one scholarly writing sample (in English)
Two letters of recommendation
