
The African Evaluation Association (AfrEA), in collaboration with EvalYouth Africa, has launched a call for applications to select Country Representatives of Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs). This initiative seeks to strengthen evaluation practices across Africa by empowering young evaluators to take on leadership, coordination, and advocacy roles within their respective countries.
This call represents an important opportunity for young professionals aged 33 or younger who are passionate about evaluation and eager to contribute to building a stronger, more inclusive evaluation culture in Africa. Selected representatives will play a vital role in promoting evaluation processes, mobilizing national networks, and contributing to advocacy and capacity-building initiatives across the continent.
The call for applications is designed to:
Provide representation for Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs) in their respective countries.
Strengthen the participation of YEEs in evaluation processes, practices, and policy spaces.
Mobilize YEEs to take part in advocacy and capacity-building activities.
Promote the role of evaluation as a tool for accountability, learning, and decision-making.
Enhance coordination among YEEs to ensure their voices are heard at national, regional, and continental levels.
To be eligible for this call, applicants must:
Be a Young and Emerging Evaluator (YEE) aged 33 years or younger.
Reside in an African country and be committed to representing YEEs within that country.
Be passionate about strengthening evaluation practices at the national and continental level.
Demonstrate the ability to coordinate, mobilize, and advocate for the participation of YEEs in evaluation-related activities.
Submit the required documents as part of their application.

A recent passport-sized photo.
A letter of recommendation.

Country Representatives of YEEs will take on a variety of responsibilities that are key to advancing evaluation in their countries. These include:

Promotion: Advancing the visibility and role of evaluation at national and regional levels.
Capacity-Building: Supporting initiatives that strengthen the technical and practical skills of YEEs.
Advocacy: Representing YEEs in policy dialogues and decision-making spaces related to evaluation.
