Competition open until the end of October
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) will award 450 scholarships this year to undergraduate and master’s students at institutions in Montenegro and abroad.
The competition, according to the Ministry of Education and Science website, is open until October 31st.
The competition emphasizes that students at higher education institutions abroad, from which the Ministry of Education and Science has temporarily suspended the recognition of educational documents in Montenegro, are not entitled to a scholarship.
According to the document, out of the total number of scholarships, the Ministry of Education and Science has allocated 100 to professions in short supply during this academic year, 10 each for studies in mathematics, physics and chemistry, and 25 for studies in computer science and information technology. The main criterion, according to the competition, is an average grade point average, which must not be less than nine.
In addition, awards won at the international level are also valued.
Similar criteria apply to university students attending other study programs in the country or abroad.
It was emphasized that the right to a scholarship can be exercised once for a specific year of study and level of education.
“A student who is the winner of a scholarship awarded by another ministry of the Government of Montenegro is not entitled to a scholarship for the best students of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation,” the competition states.
It was specified that the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology will award 65 scholarships to students of natural sciences, and 60 each to students of technical and technological sciences and medical sciences. 80 scholarships are intended for students of social sciences, 20 for those studying agriculture, and 35 for students of humanities. 30 scholarships are intended for students with disabilities. The monthly amount of the scholarships is 300 euros.
