South Jersey Jazz Society to Award Three Bob Simon Scholarship Awards this year – NewJerseyStage.com


(SOMERS POINT, NJ) — The South Jersey Jazz Society announced that it will be awarding three Bob Simon Scholarship Awards this year.  The 2025 recipients are Theo Rowe, saxophone,  Mainland Regional High School, Thomas Klotz, drums,  Deptford High School, and Faith Sandig, piano, Deptford High School.  These awards will be presented to the honorees during the South Jersey Jazz Society Jersey Fresh Jazz@thePoint Festival that will be held in Somers Point from October 16-18, 2025.
These scholarships are designed to allow the selected jazz students to work one on one with a professional jazz educator.
This scholarship is named in honor of Bob Simon a longtime supporter of the arts, and specifically jazz in southern New Jersey.

The South Jersey Jazz Society has been in existence since 2004, and is governed by a board of directors consisting of up to 20 members. The Society is a membership organization that currently has over 350 paid members. Events are open to members and non-members alike, with discounts offered to members on some events. There are also some events that members can attend free. The Society has helped the local school district by providing them with funds to supplement their music and creative arts educational programs.
