Freeland American Legion Post 473 recently awarded its 2025 scholarships.
The $1,000 scholarships are awarded each year to children or grandchildren of regular members of the post.
Freeland American Legion Post 473 awarded the Staff Sgt. Charles Hughes Scholarship to Tanner Adams. Tanner is the first recipient of this scholarship and will attend Wilkes University, majoring in criminology and enrolling in the Air Force ROTC program.
Tanner is the son of Daniel and Kristen Adams and the grandson of Dave Holland.
