The Potter County Fair of 2025 came in with heat and humidity and left with cooler temperatures and thunderstorms this year. While the weather may change, one constant is the Oswayo Valley Teachers Association Spud Spot booth. Even with the cooler-than-average temperatures and rain, the Spud Spot Booth still sold out and made a good profit for its mission.
The teachers and staff (and some of their children) volunteered their time at the booth this year to sell baked potatoes, loaded or with whatever topping wanted, for a good cause.
Each year, the OVTA raises money for the different scholarships awarded to students at Oswayo Valley High School who meet all of the scholarship criteria. Selling baked potatoes at the fair is one of the group’s major fundraisers.

The association also awards scholarships to the top three students in the graduating class:
Misty Antonioli, an OVTA member, organizer of the booth, and OV teacher, said, “I volunteer every year and really love that we are able to give back to the students at OV from our efforts here.”
Antonioli’s children even come and help in the booth. They are both future OV High School students who may benefit from the OVTA’s fundraising efforts.
One customer of the booth said, “I look forward to these potatoes every year. I’ve been coming to get them since you started selling them here.”
