Note: Students paid directly by their national funding agencies must bring their own insurance.

Eligibility Criteria for CERN Summer Studentship 2026

To apply successfully, you must meet the following requirements:

Educational Background

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics

  • Completed at least 6 semesters of full-time study by the start of the studentship

  • Must remain enrolled until the programme begins

Previous CERN Experience

  • Cannot have worked at CERN for more than 3 months under any status

  • Cannot have previously participated in this Summer Student Programme

Language Skills

  • Strong command of English

  • French is beneficial but not required
