    Internship Overview

    As an intern, you will work closely with various teams across the Embassy, including EU Affairs, Energy, Economic and Trade, and Political, Foreign Policy, and Cultural teams. While you will primarily focus on one of these areas, expect to gain exposure to a wide range of Embassy activities.

    The internships are in-personĀ at the Embassy in Paris, and remote work is not available. You must be available for the full 6-monthĀ duration of the internship.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following essential criteria:

    • Be enrolled in, or have graduated within the last 12 months from, a university degree (minimum EQF level 6) in a relevant field, such as Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Law, Humanities, Foreign Policy, Communications, or related disciplines.
    • Fluentin English (C2 level)Ā and French (C1 level), with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Have a good understanding of Ireland-France bilateral relations, as well as EU and international affairs.
    • Be able to provide aā€œConvention de stageā€ (internship agreement)from your university or higher education institution. If you are unsure about obtaining one, please contact your university beforehand.
    • Be legally eligible to reside in France for the internship’s duration and have a Euro bank account.
    • Have the ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain high standards of professionalism.
    • Demonstrate an interest in contributing to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace environment.

     

    Internship Stipend and Benefits

    • Monthly Stipend: €80 gross (subject to French social security regulations)
    • Working Hours:Ā 35 hours per week
    • Travel Benefits: 50% reimbursement of monthly Paris Pass Navigofor public transportation.
    • Ticket Restaurant Vouchers:Ā Provided with a 50% contribution from the intern.
    • Authorized Absence:Ā 2 days per month plus public holidays.

    2. Submit your application: Complete the application form(1-page) in English and send it as a PDF.
    3. Email your application: Submit your completed form to InternshipParis@dfa.ieĀ by Monday, 1 December 2025, 17:30 CET. The email subject should be: SURNAME – FIRST NAME – STAGE.

    Selection Process

    Phase 1:Ā Initial screening of applications.

    Phase 2:Ā Shortlisted candidates will undergo tests to assess their ability to work under pressure and produce concise English summaries from French materials.

    Interviews:Ā Remote interviews will be conducted with successful candidates from Phase 2.

    The Embassy reserves the right to extend the application deadline or to select more than two interns based on the selection process.
