    Nationality

    Professional Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience after completing a Bachelor’s degree.
    • Experience must be in a public authority, state institution, or private company in a developing country.
    • Note: University teaching or research is not accepted as relevant experience except in very exceptional cases.

    Academic Requirements

    • Academic degrees must be less than 6 years old.

    Additional Requirements

    • Strong development-related motivations.
    • Must not have lived in Germany for more than 15 months at the time of application deadline.

    In addition to DAAD’s criteria, applicants must also meet the University of Hohenheim’s admission requirements:

    Academic Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with above-average results.

    English Proficiency

    • Only official test results are accepted:
      • IELTS Academic: minimum 6.5
      • TOEFL iBT: minimum 90

    A certificate from your university is not accepted under any circumstances.

    Coursework Requirements

    • Evidence of completed undergraduate coursework in:
      • Statistics
      • Economics

    AgEcon PreTest

    • Applicants must submit proof of having completed the AgEcon PreTest.

    Program Details: Duration, Structure, and Funding

    The M.Sc. Agricultural Economics program lasts two years and begins every October.

    Funding Provided by DAAD EPOS

    • Full tuition fee waiver for 2 years.
    • Monthly living stipend.
    • Health insurance coverage.
    • Travel allowance to and from Germany.

    • Two-month intensive German language course (August to September) prior to the program start.

    Application Process

    Part 1: DAAD EPOS Scholarship Application (Email Submission)

    Applicants must email all required documents as PDF attachments to:

    Important Notes

    • Use the naming format:
      Number – Surname Name – Document Type

    • Avoid sending download links. Attach PDFs directly.
    • Ensure your HohCampus application number is included in the email subject line.

    Required Documents

    1. Checklist printed, signed, scanned.
    2. DAAD Application Form, signed and dated.
    3. Europass CV in reverse chronological order.
    4. Motivation Letter (max 2 pages).
      • If applying to multiple EPOS programs (max 3), the same letter must be used, with clear justification for program choices and ranking.
    5. Employer Recommendation letter on official letterhead.
    6. Employment Certificates showing minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
    7. Official English Proficiency Test results
      • May be submitted after Dec 15 but no later than mid-January.
    8. Bachelor’s Diploma and Transcript (with certified translations if needed).
    9. Secondary School Certificate (UEQ) with translations.
    10. Ranking Letter (if GPA appears below average on German scale).
    11. APS Certificate for applicants from China, India, or Vietnam.

    Part 2: University Admission Application (HohCampus Portal)

    All scholarship applicants must create a corresponding application on the University of Hohenheim’s official portal:
    HohCampus.

    • Application deadline: December 15
    • New applications become available mid-November each year.
    • The March 15 deadline applies only to self-funded non-EU/EEA students, not EPOS applicants.
